Abstract | At the time of formation of Rajasthan, the various erstwhile princely States that were unified varied in agricultural development. In these states the rulers had assigned most part of the land to various classes of persons (e.g. Zamidar, Malik, Biswadar, Jagirdar or Thekedar etc.) and religious institutions, about only 40 per cent of the land being held directly by tenants. |
