Abstract I have even chosen to deal with the heroes of Bertolt Brecht; as heroes and protagonists in most of his plays belong to working-class society. The Underdogs in his plays are mostly at disadvantages in society and life but by doing good in adverse circumstances they become hero in the eyes of people. Brecht has taken his heroes from the working class and made them not only protagonist but made us realize the appropriateness of their doings and appreciate and judge them with our own reasons as that is what he wanted to achieve through alienation effect.
Keywords Underdogs, Alienation Effect, Working – Class, Proletariat, protagonist.
