Abstract | The rapid adoption of cloud computing in healthcare has created unprecedented opportunities for improving patient care, operational efficiency, and research capabilities. However, this digital transformation has also introduced complex challenges in data governance, privacy, and security. This paper examines contemporary data governance strategies for healthcare providers operating in cloud environments, with particular emphasis on maintaining HIPAA compliance while leveraging cloud capabilities. We present a comprehensive framework for implementing robust data governance practices that address the unique challenges faced by healthcare organizations in 2020, including the increased adoption of telehealth solutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. |
